Kincaid® Foundry Gray Etagere

Foundry's industrial-chic design is a story of its inspiring roots.  The casual styling is both original and at the same time familiar.  This merger is in part due to the natural character of solid wood mixed with styling cues from elements and materials found in the workshops and machine rooms common in furniture and cabinet manufacturing.  Foundry is constructed of solid Norwegian Spruce which has been wire brushed to give the wood an aged, "lived-in" texture. A multi-step finishing process adds depth and character with hand-rubbed burnished edges.  That process accentuates the grain flow of the more dense grain patterns, creating a rich look only possible with solid wood.  In addition to modern features like our adjustable soft-close drawer glides, Kincaid utilizes the best of the old-world solid wood furniture construction techniques.  Such features include English Dovetails, mortise and tenon construction, floating tops and panels, full dust proofing, and multi-step hand-rubbed finishes.

Few dining room or living room furniture pieces have the personality and character found in the Darby Display Cabinet. Maybe that is why it is so difficult to find unique, well-made vertical pieces. Rather than build the expected china cabinet for this collection, we chose instead to make a vertical piece that would not only display its contents well, but also itself be a beautiful part of the display. The Darby Cabinet features seeded glass for a vintage/antique look, interior lighting above framed glass shelves, and sliding doors to access it all.
